EMPOWERING HEROES
A digital platform for change
Erica Wedderburn, founder of Wedderburn Housing Development Corporation (Wedderburn HDC) in Jacksonville, FL, has dedicated her efforts to supporting one of the most underserved groups in America—homeless women veterans. Wedderburn HDC’s mission is clear: provide dignified, accessible, affordable housing solutions, and a supportive community to help women veterans transition from homelessness to homeownership.
Our collaboration focused on creating a website that would not only communicate this vital mission but also make it easy for donors to engage and contribute to the cause. The design needed to resonate specifically with and represent women veterans, showcasing real images and stories to connect emotionally with visitors.
DESIGNED TO INSPIRE AND FACILITATE SUPPORT
Building more than just homes
We chose a template tailored for nonprofits, customizing it to align with the branding and specific needs of Wedderburn HDC. The website features high-impact images of women veterans, vital statistics that underline the urgency of their needs, and seamless donation capabilities. This design approach ensures that every visitor grasps the significance of the support required and feels compelled to act.
WEBSITE FEATURES
Tools for change
Key features of the site include a dedicated section for active housing projects, a simple and secure donation portal, and impactful content that highlights the challenges these heroes face upon returning home. Our goal was to create a user-friendly experience that makes learning about the issues straightforward and taking action even simpler.
CONTENT THAT CONNECTS AND CONVINCES
Voices of valor
Content development was a collaborative effort. Together with Erica, we crafted a narrative that draws attention to the critical issues at hand. By integrating compelling statistics and real-life images, we’ve crafted a narrative that not only educates visitors but also motivates them to support the cause. The content strategically focuses on the dual objective of raising awareness and soliciting donations.
