Joralice Jimenez is a local photographer out of Orlando, FL, who specializes in lifestyle photography, including maternity, milestone, and couples portraits. Her style primarily focuses on portrait photography. She finds the balance between her subject(s) and environment to capture a photograph that encapsulates the moment to be remembered forever.
We focused on a web design that showcased her portfolio, pricing, and customer testimonials. The new portfolio website showcases her work and services in a magazine-like display while providing information on pricing, services, and contact information.

Designed like a digital magazine
Joralice approached me requesting an elegant and visual website, similar to a magazine. She wanted a website that proudly displayed her portfolio while also giving viewers information about her personality, prices, and process.
She loved websites where the images could breathe and the viewer could take in the whole image. We wanted to take a “less is more” approach, have the work speak for itself, and avoid having the website look too “busy.”

Inspire, Be Resourceful, Attact
Before we could begin designing, we set out a few goals for the web design. Our solution was to create a modern and visual user experience. However, we wanted to make sure that Joralice’s website could do the following:
1. Inspire
Provide viewers with a compelling layout that highlights Joralice’s portfolio. This layout should feature her photography in a way that is breathtaking and appealing.
2. Be Resourceful
Develop a design structure that users can easily follow. Users should easily find what they want without too many clicks.
3. Attract
Every page should have a clear call to action and encourage viewers to connect with Joralice.
We completely overhauled her sitemap to highlight her key services of maternity, graduation, and couples photography. With this in mind, we designed a clean and elegant navigation menu focusing on compelling imagery.
PHOTOGRAPHY WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
Designed for an elegant aesthetic
We treated each section as a magazine spread to display Joralice’s photography in a modern and elegant manner. Whether it was spaced-out words or images that spanned the full height of the page, it guides the viewer’s focus to the imagery at hand.
Joralice specializes in portrait photography for maternity, couples, and graduation. So we made sure that each of her services shined on the home page and felt like a hero on its own service page. We were mindful of using white space and the overall spacing around images featured on her page.
We used a combination of serif and sans-serif to communicate a modern and professional style to the viewer. We placed text in thoughtful places to avoid distracting from the presented images. We incorporated animations and interactive elements to enhance the user experience.
Content
Positioning as the perfect fit
With plenty of photographs in their portfolio, Joralice Jimenez had no shortage of content. Her vast portfolio gave us plenty to pull from and design with her images and subjects in mind.
We worked closely with Joralice to develop copy and structure for her services pages that spoke to her customers. This includes a brief description of her services, pricing packages, and customer intake forms.
This content had to reduce the anxiety of hiring the “perfect” photographer to take your portraits and position Joralice as the ideal choice. However, we ensured that none of the copy was distracted from any images and each section was properly balanced.

Final Thoughts
Collaboration is the key to getting the job done. Since this website depends on images, we incorporated additional feedback sessions with Joralice to ensure the layout complimented her photography. We shared digital resources and tools and came together to turn the vision into a reality.
